Tonight’s the opening for the Munny Show at Star Clipper. I’ve had a chance to peek at the entries and I was seriously impressed at the amount of interesting, quality pieces. My interesting, quality piece is a tribute to The Maxx. When I was in high school, I obsessed over this book. Fanboy-letter-writing obsessed. I even sent Sam Kieth a Maxx refrigerator magnet I made in art class freshman year and the following Christmas he wrote me a card that said “Hey Nick. Happy X-mas. Thanks for the swell refrigerator magnet” which I treasured forever until I didn’t seem to have it any more. If you haven’t read it yet, get on it. Sam Kieth’s the best.
